Derek Mohr
December 2, 2017 - January 27, 2018

Wessel + O’Connor Fine Art gallery will inaugurate its new Lahaska, PA location with an exhibition of the work of Derek Mohr.

Derek Mohr, an American landscape, and portrait photographer, from Bucks County PA, develop and prints all photographs by hand. His prints are made using chemical recipes dating back to the 1800s, photographed with period wooden view cameras using brass lenses.

He employs a wet plate collodion process to shoot tintype, ferrotype and ambrotype portraits and landscapes.

The collodion process requires plates to be coated, sensitized, exposed and developed within fifteen minutes requiring the use of a portable darkroom in the field.

During the opening and on select days, the artist will install a pop-up studio in the gallery for commissioned portrait sessions. You can also arrange an individual shoot in advance by appointment.

Formerly located in Lambertville, NJ since 2010, this will be Wessel + O’Connor’s 7th incarnation in 32 years. The Gallery first opened in Rome, Italy in 1985.
